Lisa has led the planning and implementation of the Socotra Archipelago project since 2007. Her work includes extended periods of field surveying on Socotra as well as capacity building with local conservationists. She has co-ordinated several publications aimed at raising awareness of conservation issues on Socotra.
Before joining CMEP, Lisa managed wildlife habitats and produced management plans for a UK conservation charity. Lisa holds a first class honours degree in Wildlife Conservation and is qualified in practical environmental management.
Lisa graduated with a Distinction from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy of Plants in 2006. Her research project included a complimentarity analysis of plant distributions on Socotra and comparison with existing conservation frameworks.
Recent activities include leading the Socotra Botanic Garden project and carrying out site surveys for the Oman Botanic Garden. From her work for the Socotra Botanic Garden, Lisa holds a Certificate in Practical Horticulture.
Lisa is currently analysing plant distribution and survey data from Socotra as well as carrying out taxonomic investigations of Socotran plant specimens.
